Drew Peterson makes impassioned plea for kids
Michael Sneed: Drew Peterson is making an impassioned media plea on behalf of his
children; specifically his son, Stephen, an Oak Brook policeman who is
on suspension because of what Peterson claims is the result of
malicious prosecution. Drew Peterson, who is in jail awaiting trial on charges of murdering
his third wife, Kathleen Savio, dispatched a letter to his attorney Joel
Brodsky urging the press to watch over what he considers vindictive
legal proceedings against Stephen, the caregiver of four of Drew
Petersons six children.

A group of firefighters running across the country to honor those killed Sept. 11, 2001, spent some time in the area Wednesday. The Tour of Duty Run began Aug. 12 at the Santa Monica Pier near Los Angeles with 30 emergency service workers from the United States and Australia heading east.
